What is Kangen Water?

“Kangen” in Japanese means “return to origin”; Kangen water is produced by ionizers manufactured by Enagic, a company in Osaka, Japan. With the help of an ionizer you can turn your regular tap water into clean, healthy, antioxidant rich water that is great for your body!

The ionizer lets you choose the pH of the water depending on your need from a range of 2.5pH water to 11.5pH water. While there are different purposes for using various pH levels, for drinking you would choose the 8.5-9.5pH water range, which is known to be filled with antioxidants.

An ionizer is not just a filter! If you are looking for a filter, you can find a wide range of products on the market. An ionizer is rather referred to in Japan as a medical device. It allows you to first clean the water from chlorine, and then with the help of the electrolysis process, infuse it with molecular hydrogen. This results in water that has antioxidant properties, is alkaline, and is more powerful in it's hydrating and detoxifying abilities.

Why hydrogen?

Hydrogen is forming in the water as the result of the electrolysis process (water goes through titanium plates covered with platinum, which are charged to electricity); since it’s the smallest element in the universe, it can penetrate deeply our cells and provide us with better hydration. It’s also the smallest antioxidant and can help us fight free radicals, which means that it also helps us fight inflammation, sickness, and chronic diseases. There are over 1000 clinical studies on hydrogen and its therapeutic properties.

After electrolysis process water turns alkaline - it helps us maintain healthy pH balance in our body, neutralizing acidic influence of our Western diet (sugar is one of the most acidic foods you can eat!).

After electrolysis water also has better absorption properties, which is why it’s so popular among athletes these days (why do you think Tom Brady is drinking it daily?). It helps speed up the recovery, provides higher level of energy, and strengthens body to be able to detox faster in our hectic working environments.
